Dharmanandan Diamonds opens 2012 First DTC Sight at London.

Mr Lalji Patel, Group Chairman of DTC Sightholder, Dharmanandan Diamonds, one of the world’s leading rough diamond manufacturers based in India, was successful in his generous bid to open the Sight and receive an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour of the DTC. The monies from the Hong Kong event will support both the Diamond Empowerment Fund (DEF) and the China Charity Federation (CCF).
Founded in 1985, Dharmanandan Diamonds have a global reach and specialise in polishing diamonds and jewellery manufacturing through world-class services to all its customers.
Mr Patel said, “The vision and values of both NGOs benefitting from the ‘Diamonds in the Sky’ auction fit perfectly with our own. Our Dharmanandan Charitable Trust acts as a catalyst and a caring hand for inclusive development and aligns with our mission of “Shaping a Better Tomorrow”. Our company has an integrated corporate social responsibility programme both for the benefit of our employees as well as for the benefit of the communities in which we operate. We contribute significantly in areas of education and medication. We have built two schools in rural areas and are firmly committed to the development of our youth, and are very excited to have had the opportunity to support the empowerment of the next generation in southern Africa and China too.”
Varda Shine, Board Member of DEF, and co-host of the Diamonds in the Sky, Hong Kong event that raised over $2.7m, commented that “we were extremely pleased that one of our Sightholders’ bids won. Our Sightholder community are global leaders in social investment, and Dharmanandan demonstrated its alignment with our own DTC beneficiation objectives in supporting empowerment and development opportunities for youth around the globe.”

Mega Art Event – 2011 (Art painting competition)
Surat – The Diamond City had a Day on 8th April, as Dharmanandan Diamonds Pvt Ltd has organised “Mega Art Event – 2011”, was launched with the theme “Diamond – A Symbol of Love”, aimed at promoting and highlighting the importance of the Diamond in one’s life.
The Subject of paintings was spreading a message of love and passion, as human is invaluable creation of nature and since thousands of years human is sustaining its existence with love & emotions. Diamond is proven a medium of expressing love and feelings, since decades. This strong affection made Diamond as a Symbol of Love.
The intention of an event stands at “colors for a cause”. Firstly, artists around the state will be served a recognized platform to show their talent & skills. Secondly, through this event Surat will take the initiative of generic support to the Indian diamond industry. And third is the noble cause, that the art created by artists will be auctioned in art galleries for the art appreciators. The fund derived from auction will be donated to NGOs involved in services for education & health of diamond worker’s & their family.

De Beers’ distribution company The Diamond Trading Company (DTC), has finally
released the 79 names of its new Sightholders for the 2008 – 2011 Supplier
of Choice contract period. The sights have been awarded supply until March 2011,
employing the distribution channels of wholly-owned and joint-venture DTC operations,
worldwide.
